Flight to Port-Vila

Wild Beauty

Vanuatu is a Melanesian archipelago shaped by volcanic activity. It is a two-hour flight away from New Caledonia. Wild and colorful, the island’s nature is simply stunning. Vanuatu counts about 80 islands, of which Efate, Tanna, Santo and Ambrym are the most well-known.

The essential

Serenity and adventure

The archipelago features many volcanoes still in activity, a lush tropical forest and an amazingly diverse biodiversity. Vanuatu’s sea life is just as prolific and exceptional: its coral reef is reputed worldwide.

Tribal traditions and customs are well perpetuated and respected. You will be enthralled by the authenticity of the locals’ lifestyle. The ni-Vanuatu are kind, friendly and very hospitable. The island is an ideal destination for adventure seekers and those who love hiking. Vanuatu hides heaps of superb coastal trails.

The archipelago is a dream for diving amateurs and water sports fans alike. Feel like fishing, snorkeling or waterskiing? Vanuatu has all the assets to match your mood.  Some premium hotels organize deep-sea fishing excursions and cruises to remote islands.

If you are after a moment of leisure and serenity, bask in the soothing heat of the sun and enjoy fine sand beaches as they get washed by turquoise waters.

In Port Vila or on Efate Island, explore fresh markets that overflow with fresh produce, and mix with joyful locals. Sweet fruits, tropical fish and unusual vegetables: have a taste of crispy fresh exoticism! In Vanuatu the ambiance always echoes le land’s and its people’s generosity.

Port-villa, paradise of the adventurers
The warmest of welcomes
Situated in the Pacific ocean, in a huge bay surrounded by islets, Port-Vila is an open air playground for visitors on a quest for adventure and a change of scene. Book your plane ticket to Port-Vila and set off for an exotic adventure in this small but surprisingly dynamic capital. Mingle with the crowd on Lini Highway, the town’s main artery. Continue on past the shops and services to Port-Villa market. Here you will find an abundance of fruit, flowers and exotic products. It’s the ideal place to sample some lap-lap (the manioc-based national dish) and get a first taste of the local culinary tradition with its cosmopolitan specialities and tropical flavours.
Cradle of Vanuatu culture
Port-Vila is proud of its mix of influences which it owes to its numerous expats, however it remains attached to its roots. To experience some Melanesian culture, book flights to Port-Vila and visit the rich artistic collections at the cultural centre. Surrounded by wild vegetation, the multi-coloured building of the Michoutouchkine & Pilioko Foundation is a treasure trove of Vanuatu art. Continue exploring with a culturally immersive trip to Ekasup village, a traditional Vanuatu village where the inhabitants live much like their ancestors did.
An adventurer’s paradise
With your Port-Vila holiday deal booked, you will be heading to extreme landscapes which are relatively untouched by man. If you like unusual experiences, grab your flippers and visit the world’s only underwater post office, at Hideaway Island. Don’t forget the waterproof envelopes! A few kilometres from the capital, the Mele Cascades are a wonderfully refreshing sight. Unless you prefer the tranquillity of the well named Blue Lagoon, where the lush greenery contrasts with the azure waters, creating a heavenly setting. This little slice of paradise is accessible to you, all you need to do is book a flight to Port-Vila.
